| DESCRIPTION: Length up to 15mm. A striking black and yellow Ichneumon Wasp with a yellow U-shape on the black mesonotum, a thick yellow band on the inner margin of the eye and yellow marks only on the front of the metastoma. BEHAVIOUR: A parasite of Buff and White Ermine Moths. DISTRIBUTION: A far from common species with scattered records from southern Britain only. HABITAT: Woodland edges, unkempt gardens, hedgerows and other well vegetated areas. PERIOD: Late August to early October. |
